What Johnno Did Next… by Dr. X

This book was a short-read but it was also interesting and fun to read. Normally, I don’t like it when the viewpoint changes unless I know the characters very well as in a trilogy or something around those lines, but this book and its way of letting you know everything even though it continuously let things for the end was quite good!!! The story was great and the characters were really truthfull to what a business person would be like and a poor person and how they gather hope. One of the things that I would have said that was not the best was that the story somehow didn’t make me feel so attached to the characters and the book. It didn’t feel exactly as if I was there. That would be the star that it lost out of 5. So I would give it a 4 out of 5 as it was very interesting while I was reading it.
The author did a great job with this book!!! I would recommend this book to anyone with a wild imagination but even if your imagination is not one of tthe best I would still recommend it to you. go read it!!

The Last Virgin Alive by Stephanie Crosby

This book was so not worth it, I did not enjoy it at all.I did not at all like this book, I just thought that it was not truthful for real life, I mean, the main character’s (Symphony) background story was quite real and believable, but the story that was taking place in this book was not believable, at least in my point of view. The way the character felt could have been real but the way she feels about other things like love and Adam just didn’t feel right. I actually couldn’t finish the book as I felt it was so unbereable and just silly. I did not enjoy it at all and I wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone really, except people who like to read about totally surreal feelings and what strange people think, the way they think.

You might want to check the book out though, maybe you find it quite a nice book.

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

She is pretty and talented – sweet sixteen and never been kissed. He is seventeen; gorgeous and on the brink of a bright future. And now they have fallen in love. But… they are brother and sister.

My first thoughts while reading this book literally were, ” an ugly family (as in horrible situation) with a horrible bitchy mother, nice”. I love to read about messed up families as my family has passed through very horrible times with my mother too, so I like to be able to relate to these books. But even through horrible times like those in the book and in my life, we move on, like in the start-middle of the book, their mother abandons them without second thoughts, but they all survive. Together. Maya’s and Lochie’s relationship as siblings was very nice but also sad as in a way they had to live as their sibling’s parents. Had to grow up too fast. Like Kit said Lochan should be the typical big brother that gives him fake Ids, not the father-like-brother.

Talking about incest , I totally knew that society (that cruel thing that is supposed to be for the good) wouldn’t allow them for their relationship to go on like this, but I didn’t at all, expect what happened at the end of the book, not in any way at all.

First of all, reading this book made me realise that contently incest shouldn’t be illegal; I mean, I wouldn’t ever even think about touching or kissing in any way my brother or any member of my family, but still if siblings love each other that way, why not let them be? I do understand why having babies is illegal as it would reduce its genetic pool and most likely have genetic diseases. But why make it illegal, simple love? No idea.

I do think that their story (as in love story) is sad, it’s mostly created as they have acted like a married couple for most of their lives, so they have never actually been siblings, but more a couple. In a way as their father resented them and their mother was on the same trail, until she just leaves, they had to cover up for that lost love, they had to love each other to know that they were actually loved and that someone loved their siblings in a motherly and fatherly type of love.

SPOILER PART IN CAPITALS LETTERS(after the spoiler part it will be back to normal letters)

(AT THE END) LOCHAN’S DEATH, I DID NOT EXPECT, I DON’T UNDERSTAND WHY IT HAD TO HAPPEN. WHY? WHY? SO MANY FEELS. I DO UNDERSTAND BUT I DON’T WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT. I DON’T FEEL IT’S FAIR.

The character development and the writing skills are amazing but what I most like about this this book is that I have learned from it, learned from something that you won’t talk in school or with your parents, the knowledge that only a author can give you. I have read a story and felt incapable of doing anything at all while reading it or after that, thinking why? Why? All the time. But the end… amazing, just how I like them, with no definition of a real end in mind while writing. No story after that, so many questions left to answer but still satisfactory.

How can something so wrong feel so right…?

Bottled Up Secret by Brian McNamara

Brendan Madden is in the midst of his senior year of high school and couldn’t be happier. He has a great group of friends, his pick of colleges, and he has recently come to terms with his sexuality. One night, he meets Mark Galovic, a gorgeous, younger classmate of his. In a matter of minutes, Brendan is hooked. As the friendship between them grows, Brendan reaches his breaking point when he spontaneously confesses his feelings to him. Brendan is shocked and elated to find out that Mark feels the same way about him. The two begin to date, but because Mark is not out, it must remain a secret. As their friends and family become suspicious, openly gay Brendan becomes increasingly frustrated with their discreet relationship, while Mark becomes more and more paranoid that they’re going to be found out.

first of all i did like the book but it didn’t struck to me as a fantastic book, also this was my first experience reading books about a gay relationship.i must say i don’t hate gay people and i have gay friends but all of the realtion was a bit akward at the beginning. this book has entered me into gay literature.

the beginning of this book sounds really interesting and makes you want to continue reading. i found it really interesting that you could see the two types of gay people in this book:the girly, stereotype one and the soccer player who doessn’t want to come out or feel confident. it’s also very sad that they are afraid to epress their feelings and emotions about who they are.

i do though, hate the way mark is always so annoying about his relationship with Brendan. i do understand that he is confused about his sexuality but still he is making Brendan lie to his friends which is not fair by any means.

in my opinion, the cover is pretty pretty and amazingly done. you can see there has been a lot of effort added to it like towards the book itself.
