The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

This book is a very difficult book to read. The difficult part is not the reading (which may be complicated too) but the forming your opinion part. It is such a famous book. At the beginning, it is very difficult to express your opinion as you haven’t met Jay Gatsby yet. Basically, at the beginning you’re confused, but you quickly get over it.

THE GREAT GATSBY, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s third book, stands as the supreme achievement of his career. This exemplary novel of the Jazz Age has been acclaimed by generations of readers. The story of the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan, of lavish parties on Long Island at a time when The New York Times noted “gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession,” it is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s.-Goodreads

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4671.The_Great_Gatsby

At the beginnig of the book we are shown Nick and what he wants to do with his life. he decides he wants to go East and sell bonds on Wall Street. When he gets to West Egg he rents a apartment just next to a mansion in which the great Gatsby -famous for his amazing Saturday parties- lives. He goes to visit his cousin, Daisy, and little by little all of them are mixed-up in an intricate life.

Nick Carraway is the main character of the book. He is basically strange. At the beginnig of the book he reveals that he doesn’t oftenly judge people from their apearances as his father taught him that not everyone has had as many oportunities in life as he will have. Even after this he has to go through this part of his life to realise that indeed not everyone is who they seem. He does judge a lot of people throughout this book. At the beginnig he calls himself an honest man but his character develops and changes so much he ends up not being such a good man at all.

His character development is not exactly what you would call a change for the best. He changes to become exactly what surrounds him -which he often critizes- and ends up being very judgmental. He is changes his opinion about some people very often. Sometimes he believes Gatsby is plain stupid and then he believes he is his God and best friend. Just plain strange. Also, throughout the whole book it seemed as if the story had nothing to do about him but at the end he just gets caught up by it and it’s his fault. I didn’t exactly always like Nick.

Dasiy was very funny at times and I liked her until I realised that she was too humane. She came across as the wife who was being cheated on and who was sad because she realised her daughter would live in the world of injustice she lives in. She said, “that’s the best a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.” It clearly shows her frustration as she knows she is being cheated on by her husband. She knows the only way she could’ve been happy would have been if she hadn’t known about it. It made me very sad, but then she totally messes up with Gatsby. I suppose that is humane, being frightened of her mistake and wanting to abandon it. It definitely wasn’t the correct thing to do, but at that time it would’ve seemed like the right thing to do for herself. I understood her wanting to have an affair with Gatsby if she loved him but then she totally abandons him.

Tom I hated. He was definitely an ass and he cheated on his wife which is disgraceful. He is also a horrible racist. “next they’ll throw everything overboard and have intermarriage between black and white.” The thing is here he was talking about Gatsby and how he didn’t deserve Daisy. But that comment was uncalled for cause no one in the room was even black!!! How can someone be so racist? That ia whn my hate for him blossomed. He also betrays Gatsby – there’s more hate on its way.

Gatsby. Jay Gatsby is a drug-dealer. I didn’t think that was possible but it obviously was. At the beginnig I didn’t like him; I felt sorry for him cause he lived alone in a huge mansion. I knew he had to feel lonely. But little by little I started liking him more as you learn what he has had to go through in his life to accomplish what he most desired: wealth to marry Daisy. He didn’t marry her but he did get wealthy and he began to change into this souless person who only cared about the money. Again I felt bad for him as during the end he only wants to protect his love and ends up being betrayed. I felt really sorry for him.

The writing is amazing and I fell in love with the way Nick (the main character) described other people. For example when Nick describes his cousin’s -Daisy- voice, “It was the kind of voice that the ear follows up and down as if each speech is an arragement of notes that will never be played again.”He seemed hypnothised by her voice and at some point it made me question if they were actually cousins. The writing is beautiful during the whole book.

The whole book is about wealth and what it does to you. Just being around wealthy people completely changed Nick so imagine what it did to Gatsby. It breaks people and relations and everything. Gatsby lost all of his friends for that. Nick changes and becomes just what his father told him to beware, a judgmental person. It totally makes you rethink your life and think if you want to become like them, willing to risk everything for the money. Gatsby’s heart and soul are described as the following, “ghostly heart” and ” his heart was in constant, turbulent riot.” If that does not repel you I don’t know what will. It definitely makes me feel sad for this person who seems as if he doesn’t have a heart, but I do know he had one before. Before he got money or even thought about it.

The fact that I disliked so many of the characters was really fun as I could hate them happily in my own mind. At some points the book was extremely funny like when Gatsby escapes the house before seeing Daisy. It was just hilarious. Even when he falls off a flight of stairs cause he won’t stop looking at Daisy. I did like it and so I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I did not give it a 5 out of 5 stars because I didn’t exactly love it. I think anyone should read this book, even if you don’t end up liking it: it will definitely change your way of thinking about many things in the world.

This Is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp

10:00 a.m.
The principal of Opportunity, Alabama’s high school finishes her speech, welcoming the entire student body to a new semester and encouraging them to excel and achieve.
10:02 a.m.
The students get up to leave the auditorium for their next class.
10:03
The auditorium doors won’t open.
10:05
Someone starts shooting.
Told over the span of 54 harrowing minutes from four different perspectives, terror reigns as one student’s calculated revenge turns into the ultimate game of survival.

This book is about a shooting in a school. Most of the students are locked up in the hall (where the shooting takes place). We are told from more than 4 point of views how the students live it. We are also told why these four students in particular wished they weren’t there and what they have to live for. Obviously not everyone in that hall survives.

I read this book all in one sitting. All of it.

The characters were surprisingly humane and you could easily empathise with them. I could even feel Tyler’s (the ‘evil’ character) loneliness and how the only thing he wanted was someone to be with and who could understand him and not abandon him. He was cold-hearted but you can definitely understand why! He felt like everyone had abandoned him.

I did not feel as if that was an excuse for what he did. It isn’t. He was not thinking and there were consequences. So many kids and teachers were killed! I thought there would only be 3 or 4 casualities, not a whole parade of (not randomly chosen) people. That surprised me and that is one of the things I love so much about this book, it actually surprises you.

I felt as if all of my insides were pouring out by the end of the book. It totally felt as if I were there. But all of the most important deaths took me by surprise and that is by far what I liked the most.

Another thing that I really liked was the fact that we started by knowing nothing about the characters (which is normal in most books) and how they were connected to each other; we ended up knowing their deepest fears within their relationships. They were all linked together and we lern that little by little (which doesn’t happen that often in other books).

Most of the relationships we get to know are really messed up: from the abusive father to the mother with alzeimer. We get to see how most of them deal with grief and loss which is really sad and scarring. The writing style wasn’t anything out of this world but still it was really fun and enjoyable.

The story is really fast-paced and I loved it! The only complaint that I could have for this book would be that I didn’t always enjoy Claire’s POV (point of view) still this book was amazing and I’m really glad I read it.

I do recommend this book to anyone really. Just beware that it has traumatic deaths which could scar you forever. Happy reading!!!

The Merciless by Danielle Vega

Forgive us, Father, for we have sinned

Brooklyn Stevens sits in a pool of her own blood, tied up and gagged. No one outside of these dank basement walls knows she’s here. No one can hear her scream.

Sofia Flores knows she shouldn’t have gotten involved. When she befriended Riley, Grace, and Alexis on her first day at school, she admired them, with their perfect hair and their good-girl ways. They said they wanted to save Brooklyn. They wanted to help her. Sofia didn’t realize they believed Brooklyn was possessed.

Now, Riley and the girls are performing an exorcism on Brooklyn—but their idea of an exorcism is closer to torture than salvation. All Sofia wants is to get out of this house. But there is no way out. Sofia can’t go against the other girls . . . unless she wants to be next. . . .

In this chilling debut, Danielle Vega delivers blood-curdling suspense and terror on every page. By the shockingly twisted end, readers will be faced with the most haunting question of all: Is there evil in all of us?

I read this book in one sitting and it was the most horrorifying book I have ever read. It actuelly  made me feel as if I was in a horror movie and that is really hard cause it normally takes a lot to scare me unless it’s a film.

I gave it a 5 out of 5 stars basically for that reason and because I couldn’t stop reading it. I just had to finish it. Eventhough this story develops in a couple of days, the character development is still quite amazing. Sofia, the main character had had a troubling experience in her last school and everything looked as if her new friends would take her there as well.

I really like the main theme of evil and how even in the name of good sometimes evil possesses us. That is exactly what happened to Sofia’s friends. They were trying to help Brooklyn but the means were not exactly good and so they were conquered by evil. Instead, Sofia, who was the only one trying to stop them to do good is the one thought to actually have evil in her at the end. As if it had been her the one possessed the whole time.

I don’t normally like religious books as I myself am an atheist. Still this book was amazing and I definitely recomend it to people who dont normally get scared easily. This will totally horrify you.

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS AND IF YOU WNAT TO AVOID THEM I ADVISE YOU TO STOP READING RIGHT NOW UNLESS YOU DON’T MIND SOME MINOR SPOILERS IN THE INTRODUCTORY PART. THE REST OF THE REVIEW WILL BOMB YOU WITH SPOILERS SO BE AWARE.

*sigh of relief* I finally read this book and I really hope I had read it so much time ago. Was I that stupid to put other books before this one?!?!?!?! How did I dare?!?!?!

Compassionate, dramatic, and deeply moving, To Kill A Mockingbird takes readers to the roots of human behavior – to innocence and experience, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos. Now with over 18 million copies in print and translated into forty languages, this regional story by a young Alabama woman claims universal appeal. Harper Lee always considered her book to be a simple love story. Today it is regarded as a masterpiece of American literature.

Now a days if you ask someone what To Kill a Mockingbird is they will either answer you with: a) it is a piece of art created by the most stunning and powerful Harper Lee and I loved it! (maybe didn’t read it, but I’m still sure it’s great) or b) isn’t something about the Games that are hungry? (maybe mockinjay-y-something) in which case you should ignore them and not befriend them.

If the latter is the answer given to you IT IS WRONG! The answer is the former one, obviously. In the paragraph in bold Goodreads tells us about the book, but it is not any ordinary summary; it is a summary about how amazing it is and how much everyone likes it. As I am a very nice person I will take pity on the people who haven’t read the book and will tell you a little bit about it.

Jem and Scout are the main characters in this book and it is narrated from Scout’s points of view. She is a very young girl and she talks about her life in the 1930’s. Her father is a lawyer and he gets a case in which a man is accused of rape (which is obviously false). They live in a very racist society and they seem to be the only ones with a bit of brains in their heads. In this book it is very clearly shown how children see the world as it really is and not through blinded-by-prejudice eyes. The story also talks about a man (Boo) who hasn’t ever come out from his house and it shows from Scout’s point of view his story and how he gets to come out. Unfortunately for Jem, he missed it. *sorry for the unconscious*

BOMBING WITH SPOILERS WILL BEGIN IN THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH.

I will go part by part talking about this book. Beware, it will be extremely long as I feel many feelings for this book.

It took me a long time to start this book. I started about 5 times before I got the hang of it and was able to continue and finish it. I believe it is due to the fact that so many characters are introduced at the beginnig that it was confusing, so very confusing. I was even angry at the beginning ’cause I wanted to read it, but I just couldn’t. That is why it is such a relief to finally read it ’cause now I can read it as many times as I want and I’ll understand the beginning perfectly. Yey!

SCOUT. Scout is an amazingly inteligent girl. In her first day at school she is punished for knowing too much. Her teacher argues with her as she defends that knowing to read at that early age and not following her curriculu or study-plan is not allowing her to learn. She is obviously affected by the comment as she believes she won’t ever be able to read again. Do not worry, child. Her intelligence is just so over-board it just felt like I was being whipped by it. It felt so mind-blowing that a 9-year-old girl could understand the world and the injustices so much better than millions of adults. I felt truly overwhelmed by her and her brother. Her character development is also really shocking. More or less ffrom the beginning of the boook to the end 4 or 5 years have gone by. In that short amount of time we see how her way of thinking changes but always with the same standards. She realises that he rbrother is changing and in a way he starts treating her in a different way as he is older and goes out more with his friends without her. She realises he is too confident in himself and looks down at her as she doesn’t understand difficult vocabulary but still she definitely understands so much more than what I understood when I was nine. She even starts planning her life with Dill. Still, she always believes that she must stand for what she believes is fair and demolish what is unfair. An amazing young girl without doubt.

JEM. Jem is Jem. He is Scout’s older brother and wisdom does reside in him aswell as in his sister but more of a cocky wisdom. He believes he knows everything and ridicules Scout for not knowing as many words as he does. Eventhough he was at times horrible to her, he was always a brother to her and he protected her with everything he has. Even his arm gets in the middle of their love (leading to unconsciousness and missing out on Boo’s steps out of the house). When their aunty told her off for no aparent or stupid reason he would soothe her and calm her down assuring her that she was certainly not at fault. Jem was an excemplary brother although – everything said now – at times he was a dick.

ATTICUS. Atticus is the perfect example of a father. Although he is not in the best of circumstances as his wife died (Scout doesn’t even remember her) he does a great job at being a parent. One thing I loved the most about Atticus and it is something Scout does value too (she tells off her uncle as he does not do the same as Atticus) is that her listens to every version and that he allows his children to tell him whenever they believe something is done unfairly as long as they say it and act with manners. I’ll give you an example. Whenever Scout is told off she can demand her father to explain why he thinks this and she can explain to her father why she doesn’t believe its right or fair. Her father doesn’t get angry at her for talking back as she says everything with manners but she is allowed to say she she believes is fair and the truth. Atticus is exemplary and I really like it when his sister (their aunty) tells them off but Atticus tells them not to worry as she makes no sense at all. Although she tries to be the woman of the family Atticus will always be the figure of authority and Jem and Scout always (well, nearly always) do what they are told by him. A very curious thing about them is that they call him Atticus instead of father. When they are in trouble thwy do call him father but mostly, Atticus. I believe it is because they see him not only as a father but also as a friend who they can confide in and tell him their most inner secrets. That is lovely.

I could go on and on with all the characters but I feel like I would never finsh so I’ll do it short.

Calpurnia is an amazing mother figure for the kids and they do respect her a lot. I did not realise she was black until I was half-way through the book.

Tom. Poor Tom, I knew they were going to declare him guilty ’cause it was pretty obvious and I knew that he would die, but I thought he would die because the court would say so not because he would try to escape with only one hand. It was pretty stupid but I do understand that most likely he did it because he didn’t want to die without doing anything and so he decided to run and do something for his liberty. It didn’t work out though.

Mr. Bob Ewell. I just have a work for this asshole who mistreats his children and tries to kill the kids of the man who knew better than him. Racist. Asshole. Dick. Dead. Okay, maybe it was more than one word… I just had t get it all out.

About Boo I do not have a lot to say except I feel very sorry for him and his life. I feel very sorry for what he had to go through when he was a young boy until the end of the story. He was traumatised and it was certainly not his fault. Still, he helped Jem and Scout when they needed him and he risked his life for them.

Boo and Tom are obviously the mockingbirds, although one does have a better end than the other one. Surely both are mistreated eventhough they did nothing to recieve this punishment from society.

The writing style was exceptional. The speech was obviously from the 1930’s but the writing techniques were fantasticly used. There was a use of alliteration that I loved, ‘a soft sibilant sound’ at the same time she is showing what she means by sibilant and it is the ‘s’ sound. I found it really smart and her writting overall is just shockingly smart as she does this throughout the whole book, not only here. Her writing also reflects that she clearly is writing through the point of view of a young girl who has a very expansive vocabulary but still she doesn’t know all of the words. Truly fantastic. I have no more words to describe this book except to say that everyone should read this book, preferably if you’re older than 13 as it does talk about some mature themes such as rape and racism.

I obviously gave this book 5 out of 5 stars. AMAZING!!!!!!

Aerobics and something unpleasant on the wall| 15 min short stories

“Should I start by telling you my name or should I just start with the story? I’m not sure about that. I’m scared. I don’t want to repeat the experience in my mind. I wasn’t happy the first time telling the police, why would I be happy this time around?”

It was hard to remember, mostly I just told them lies, I mean what could I do? Was I supposed to tell them that I might’ve killed my best friend and that was why I thought my brain had stopped working? Didn’t think so!  I was scared: I had killed my best friend. Well, not exactly but you get the point.

Okay, maybe you don’t as I haven’t told you what happened yet! SO let’s start.

“You going to aerobics today?” I was excited. This was going to be my first class and I was kind of prepared to socialise for once in my life. “Not really, no,” Melissa said, she is my best friend, by the way. Sorry, was. “Why? What happened?” She wasn’t really telling me much…

“Sorry can’t talk about it but I’ll see you after it, okay?” She suddenly seemed energetic, something I hadn’t seen her in a while. She always seemed… fague, opaque.

**********

“So what happened there, huh?” Melissa asked, tired again. “Not much, everyone seemed to notice me, but not in the way I want, at least.” So we left and we ran to my house, it was getting dark and my parents hated it when I was too late for dinner. We ran upstairs and glided through my bedroom’s door. Now I realised we shouldn’t have been that happy, you know? I dashed in and suddenly I freezed: how was I going to explain to my parents that there was a huge stain of red ink in my bedroom wall. Wait, was it really a stain?

“Mel, are you kidding me?” I asked whispering afraid of the answer. I was freezed in time and she didn’t seem to want to answer me. “Is this a joke?” She wasn’t answering. “Mel, for god’s sake, answer me!” I turned furioulsy, each time I was more convinced that she had done this while I was in aerobics. She wasn’t there. Did her sudden disappereance have anything to do with my wall?

I don’t remember anything else from that night, just that I woke up in my room covered with my best friend’s blood and her body, knowing that I had gone after her. I knew she had something to do with the blood-red symbols painted on my wall.

I have the same questions as you, I just don’t ask them, bust since you’re insisting I’ll tell you, I don’t know if I killed her or how we had gotten back to my room. I don’t know why she left my room, I don’t know how she left my room without me noticing. Most important, I don’t know why that night I forgot everything about my best friend’s death, which I might’ve killed.

I don’t know, I don’t want to know either.

15 minutes short stories

Hey everyone,

Once in a while, I would love to write some short stories written in about 15 minutes. This inspiration came to me as I have started my exams and more or less I calculated I had about 15 minutes to write each short story.

First of all I would like to say that they’ll be really short as I’ll do them in about 15 minutes and I will try to use as much extensive vocab and punctuation as I can. If any of you spots any of my mistakes please tell me as this is kind of for practice.

I would also like to mention that English is not my mother language, that will probably be the reason why some things won’t make sense, although I do try to make as much sense as I can!

As the title I will add about three words that will indicate the words that I have been writing the story about.

I hope you enjoy them and please do comment if there’s something wrong going on.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

I do not know exactly how I feel about this book. I really expected so much from this book but I also expected it to take a scientific turn of some kind which never happened. So when I began the book I wasn’t to excited about it.

LIttle by little the book enchanted me into reading it. The characters were pretty amazing although reading from Ari’s point of view was strange. He felt alone and it was really sad learning what he had to say. HIs character development was amazing, though.

He finds talking to his parents very difficult but at the end they all get over their demons and get to be a happy familiy.

This book just had to many issues to talk about but I do think it would be much more exciting for someone to go into the book knowing only this. It would definitely spark your interest and would relax you to know that his character is not always an ass and he does do very nice things for Dante.

I would recommend this book to people who are in a cheesy mood and would want to read a really cheesy book cause it is that even if it talks about deep themes such as wars and violence of sexuality.

Heartfelt lies by Kristy Love

Loving Cassie was effortless.
She was a thirst I couldn’t quench.
She was everything I needed, but nothing I deserved.
I failed her more times than I could count.
I lied relentlessly.
And she always forgave me.
Until she couldn’t.
Maybe I deserved to be left behind.
* * *
Jax swept me off my feet with his disheveled hair and his easy smile.
I loved him fiercely.
He made me believe in the fairytale.
Then the walls crumbled around me.
The lies never ended.
I left him behind. I had no choice.
I mourned the loss of him.
But I moved on.
I created a new life,
Now, I was marrying someone else.
Where do we go now that he’s back?

The beginning was strange. I just didn’t get anything.

The way the author started informing you after that was really good and effective. The way it dealt with the past and after that the present was really smart and it worked perfectly. I read this book as a stand-alone eventhough it is a sequel of another book. I didn’t have any kind of doubt at the end of the book. At the end I understood everythin perfectly. In general the author did a good job.

I loved how they introduced the difficult themes like young parenthood or addiction although it is a very difficult topic to talk about. It was also a very good thing that it was written in both perspectives: the addicted person and the one dealing with the addicted person.

It was also really smart to reveal everything at the end: the end of their relationship in the past and what actually happened at the end of the book.  It makes everything easier for the reader to compare and forgive. It also has a greater impact on the reader as we begin to understand everything at the end and throughout the whole book questions are raised. The contast was an excelent move. When Cassie was at her wedding and everything fell apart the good part of the past was intoduced. It also worked the other way around. When she seemed happy in the present the bad part of the past was shown.

The book was a really fun read and I must admit that at the end I cried, 1. because the past was very sad and 2. because the ending of the present was very happy.

I surely recommend this book to anyone who would like a quick read about love relationships and the problems of addiction and parenthood.

Those Girls by Lauren Saft

Some girls will always have your back, and some girls can’t help but stab you in it.

Junior year, the suburbs of Philadelphia. Alex, Mollie and Veronica are those girls: they’re the best of friends and the party girls of the school. But how well does everybody know them–and really, how well do they know one another? Alex is secretly in love with the boy next door and has joined a band–without telling anyone. Mollie suffers from a popular (and possibly sociopathic) boyfriend, as well as a serious mean streak. And Veronica just wants to be loved–literally, figuratively, physically….she’s not particular. Will this be the year that bonds them forever….or tears them apart for good?

How to begin with this book… I totally felt broken and torn apart when I finished this book. It was sad, heart-breaking, especially delirious and mostly true. That is the part that hurts the most. That it was totally true and you could see how true it was just by reading the first page. The names that we call each other, even if it-s a joke, most likely hurt us and when they are said truefully by the ones we most admire the hurt the most.

I must say the author did a great job with this book, the writing style, I loved. The character development I was smitten by, the turn of events where kind of anticipated but not exactly the way they happened and that made everything worthwhile.

I felt really sad about the lives’ of the three girls. Alex loved Drew and that love changed her, made her do things that at the beginning of the book you could have sweared she wouldn’t ever do. She changes completely just for revenge, she changes so slowly that you wouldn’t even notice. She is kind of happy at the beginning but by the end of the book she is miserable and she has changed so much, she even loses her virginity for gods sake.

Veronica. Gods, she was the most sad and alone of them all. I really felt so sad for her as she really just wanted to be loved. She lived alone as her mother lived in NYC, you could practically say her mother didn’t give a fuck about her. She’s called the slut but she really just wants to feel wanted and not alone. I really empathised with her even when she was being stupid ’cause she really didn’t deserve what she got. She was just trying to feel as if she mattered for once in her sad life.

Mollie, her story as sad as Veronica’s. I felt really sorry for her as she had to kind of adapt a completely different way of being with her family as they were really religious. She also had an abusive boyfriend. She even thought that that was normal, which was in every way wrong. He made her do things that she really didn’t want to just so he would stay with her. And at the beginning she thought it was normal, that everyone did that to their boyfriends so that they would stay with them. That’s not normal, it’s abuse. She took part in a threesome with her boyfriend and Veronica cause she thought that would keep them together when she totally didn’t want to. It is so frustrating. Her boyfriend wanted to have a threesome because he was already fucking Veronica, she didn’t even want to, she was also compelled by him.

The worst part of all of this story is that they didn’t open up and explain to each other what was going on and what they thought, they just continued hating each other and at the same time wanting to be part of the group when thay obviously didn’t want to anymore. It was so sad.

The worse part of all of this as I had said before is that these things actually happen in real life. There are girls who don’t realise they are being abused or some girls have been abandoned by their parents, fathers or mothers and need to feel that void with something unacceptable by society and instead of helping them they call these girls sluts. Instead of helping these girls they call them good girlfriends and so women are abused and no one cares. These book is so so true, I just want to hug it and cry. Cause these girls exist in real life, even if they’re not called Veronica or Alex or Mollie. They exist and they backstab each other because they can’t help it, because they don’t feel safe. They need to be safe.

They actually just needed each other but instead they grew apart from each other. The end is quite truthful too as it is obvious that Drew wouldn’t want to be with them anymore, they had changed too much.

I gave this book 5 stars out of 5 just because of the message it gave.

I recommend this book for people mature enough to read some abusive scenes but that aren’t that explicit, you just understand what is happening. If you are mature enough, then read it.
